PD Dr.
Adham Elsayed
Clinical questions are where my research begins.
My research interests are closely connected to questions that arise in restorative, prosthodontic and implant dentistry: how materials behave, how adhesion can be improved, how restorative procedures affect tooth structure and how evidence can inform clinical decisions.
After joining Kiel University in 2013, my early work investigated ceramic implant-abutment concepts and their mechanical behaviour. This developed into broader work in restorative materials, adhesion and minimally invasive restorative dentistry.
Today, 24 publications and a Habilitation later, I continue to work on clinically relevant questions through my research activity, my role as a visiting researcher at LMU Munich and the doctoral candidates I supervise.
I am particularly interested in collaborations that connect meaningful clinical questions, sound methodology and practical relevance.

10.3290/j.jad.c_2106 →Supervision
Research partnerships and doctoral supervision
I supervise doctoral candidates towards the Dr. med. dent. at Kiel, Munich and other universities in Germany. Students are welcome to discuss potential projects, subject to university requirements and supervision capacity.
Universities, researchers and industry teams can propose collaborations in adhesive dentistry, restorative materials and implant prosthetics, on the condition that the design and the publication decision stay with the investigators. Work spanning the clinic and the materials laboratory, with results published rather than held back.
